Dental Assessments

Have toothache or sore gums, Nunyara Aboriginal Health Service can give you advise on how to manage these conditions and can help you access the care you need. Ring Clinic Reception to make an appointment with an Aboriginal Health Worker to discuss this with them. We recommend that you have a full health check at the same time so ask the clinic receptionist for a long consultation so we can do everything at once for you.

Dietitian/ Endocrinologist

Having trouble with keeping weight goals? Have a confirmed chronic illness like diabetes or heart disease? Live alone and find it impossible to eat correctly?

Being over weight is a leading cause of chronic diseases that shorten life and interfere with the quality of life. Nunyara Aboriginal Health Service has a dietician visiting the Centre every month, call Clinic Reception to make your appointment.

In 2018 Nunyara were also fortunate to be able to secure the services of a visiting Endocrinologist, Dr Chinmay Marathe, who now visits once a month, usually for 2 days.


An optometrist visits Nunyara Aboriginal Health Service every 3 months. The service offers eye checks and eye glasses that can be purchase on a lay-by plan. There is no cost for Aboriginal people to get an eye check up. Ring Clinic Reception on 8649 9900 for appointment and to ask how the service works.


Are your feet sore or do you have ingrown toenails? Nunyara has a Podiatrist who attends our clinic monthly .. This is a popular service and books out quite quickly so you will need to book in advance. Call the clinic receptionist to make your appointment.

Ear Health

 Nunyara's Aboriginal Health Practitioner and most Health Workers are trained in Ear Health. There is also has a team of Audiologists and a visiting Ear Nose and Throat Specialist Ian Wong, who visit on occasion. For more information please contact Jane Baulderstone, outreach services

Grief Counselling

In response to community feedback, Nunyara began funding a Grief and Loss program in 2018. We are fortunate to have Rosemary Wanganeen from the Australian Grief and Loss Institute visiting Nunyara once every 5 weeks. Please call clinic reception for an appointment.

Referrals and Advocacy

Aboriginal Health Workers can help clients of Nunyara accessing other services such as Housing, and Employment services, and can help with complex situations by providing one on one advocacy.
